Join us at the Texas School Safety Conference June 24-25

The Texas State School Safety Center is hosting their 2nd annual Texas School Safety Conference from June 23-27 in Corpus Christi. The five-day event is an exceptional learning opportunity for anyone passionate about the safety of their schools. School safety officers, administrators, educators, and professionals alike will be connecting and learning together under the same roof. This year’s conference has been designated the theme of “School Safety: A Shared Responsibility.”

What is the Texas School Safety Conference?

At the Texas School Safety Conference (TxSSC), industry experts lead conversations that will better prepare you for a school emergency. Notable keynote speakers include ABC News correspondent and television host John Quiñones as well as renowned school safety advocate John Micheal-Keyes. Additionally, topical breakout sessions built to spark learning and conversation take place throughout week.

Here’s the full schedule for the conference. In the schedule, you’ll find over 75 different sessions and presentations covering a wide array of school safety topics to chose from. For instance, some examples of these topics include first aid, emergency leadership in schools, emergency action planning, and rural school safety.

About the Texas School Safety Center

The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level research organization at Texas State University in San Marcos. TxSSC is tasked with the role of the state’s official clearinghouse of school safety and school security information. Thus, their duties include publishing academic research as well as providing training and technical assistance opportunities for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout Texas. In addition, TxSSC also forms partnerships with throughout the state to reduce the negative impacts of tobacco on people of all ages.
