About the National Safety Council

The National Safety Council (NSC) is a nonprofit organization with the mission of “eliminating preventable deaths at work, in homes and communities, and on the road through leadership, research, education and advocacy.” Their mission is advanced by emerging business, government agencies, elected officials and the public to help prevent injuries.

The organization is data driven, and produces Injury Facts® – an annual compilation of statistics on unintentional deaths and injuries. The NSC supports safety professionals through research, networking, awards, and education. They offer professional development certificates in advanced safety, and also head the Campbell Institute of environmental health and safety.
