What is the Texas School Safety Conference?
At the Texas School Safety Conference (TxSSC), industry experts lead conversations that will better prepare you for a school emergency. Notable keynote speakers include ABC News correspondent and television host John Quiñones as well as renowned school safety advocate John Micheal-Keyes. Additionally, topical breakout sessions built to spark learning and conversation take place throughout week.

For instance, some examples of these topics include first aid, emergency leadership in schools, emergency action planning, and rural school safety.
About the Texas School Safety Center
The Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) is an official university-level research organization at Texas State University in San Marcos. TxSSC is tasked with the role of the state’s official clearinghouse of school safety and school security information. Thus, their duties include publishing academic research as well as providing training and technical assistance opportunities for K-12 schools and junior colleges throughout Texas. In addition, TxSSC also forms partnerships with throughout the state to reduce the negative impacts of tobacco on people of all ages.
